Over the weekend I started watching the Walking Dead on Netflix. Until last night I made sure to watch it earlier in the evening and then watch something funny right before I go to bed to keep the Zombies out of my head. Last night, however I had to watch ONE MORE EPISODE which didn’t end until it was past my bedtime…the result…I spent the majority of the night fighting Zombies in my dreams, I have to admit I am a pretty awesome shot in my head (I’ve never shot a gun in real life).

So, I first discovered these shakes from Angela at Oh She Glows which she nicknamed the Green Monster I was skeptical at first, you want me to drink spinach and kale?…grrrroooosss! But I was pleasantly surprised at how YUMMY they are and how much energy they give you. And its so easy to modify them to meet your dietary needs. The only thing I would suggest is to NEVER LEAVE OUT THE BANANA, it seems to be the key ingredient to masking the vegetable flavors.
Protein Packed Green Monster
1 cup milk (I used unsweetened vanilla Almond Milk)
1-2 Handfuls of Spinach
1 cup frozen strawberries
2 Tablespoons Greek Yogurt
1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter
1 Tablespoon Chia Seeds
1 scoop Protein Powder (I used a Mocha Flavor)
Handful of Ice Cubes
I’m not gonna lie I had a smoothie when I first woke up and then had the remainder for dessert after my eggs and potato cakes (recipe coming soon)
